Five Easy Ways to Give

The Church of St John the Evangelist is a registered Canadian charity. Eligible donations will be issued a charitable givings tax receipt early in the following calendar year. If you would like to receive a tax receipt, please ensure that we have your email or mailing address.

Pre-authorized Giving

Pre-authorized giving is the easiest way to support Saint John's ministry consistently according to your own planned intention. Please download the form that you find here, and return it to the church office or place it in the offering plate in an envelope on Sunday morning.

Easy Online Giving

Use this green button in order to give directly by credit card.

E-Transfer

We accept gifts by e-transfer at etransfer@rockonlocke.ca. If you wish your gift to be designated to anything other than day-to-day ministry, please send a separate email to the same address with your request.

Envelope Giving

If you prefer to give by cash or cheque, please contact the donations secretary at envelope@rockonlocke.ca. The secretary will arrange for you to receive offering envelopes. Yellow envelopes are also available in the pews for your donations received during worship on Sunday mornings.

By Post

Cheques can be mailed to the church office at 320 Charlton Ave. W. Hamilton, ON L8P 2E7.

Designating a Gift

No matter how you choose to give there are many ways to support our ministry. Most will support our "day to day ministry." You may also designate your gift for "refugee sponsorship," "capital projects," the "Rector's Discretionary Fund," or other priorities.

Why We Give

All things come from God and all things belong to God. The beauty and resources of the world around us are given to us in trust, to care for and cherish as gifts from our creator. We give as part of our spiritual growth, to remind ourselves that we did not earn or make for ourselves what we have. (Deuteronomy 31:20) We give as a reminder that all we have is a gift from God.

We give also for the sake of our neighbours, our community and the work of the Church in the world. It takes us all working together in order to be the people God has called us to be and to do the work that God calls us to do. Every person is important and valued as is every contribution offered. We strive to live up to the example of our ancestors in faith, committed to the common good. (Acts 2:44-47)
