There are three ways to support the Adopt a Family/Senior Holiday Program.
1. Adopting a specific family or senior. This means that St. Matthew's House will match you with a family or senior and provide you with their specific wish list. The estimated cost to adopt a family with two children is about $350, including roughly $100 per child for clothing and toys, plus $150 for a grocery gift card for the family's holiday meal. To sponsor a senior, St. Matthew's House suggests about $125, including a $50 grocery gift card and $75 for a gift and clothing.
2. Donate a variety of gift cards or make a monetary donation. This helps ensure that all families and seniors get sponsored, especially those last minute Emergency Appointments.
3. Donate NEW unwrapped clothing and toys, or gift cards, to go to families or seniors who reach out to St. Matthew's House after registration ends, or for Emergency Appointments. Any gift cards, clothing, toys, other items, or monetary donations left at the end of the season will go towards the Senior Services Program and beyond, supporting vulnerable, at-risk seniors who need assistance with housing, food security, isolation, and unforeseeable crises.
As in previous years, those wishing to receive a tax receipt for gifts-in-kind should put receipts in an envelope with their full contact information.
Please consider how you might support the Holiday Hope Campaign, and watch for further information about deadlines in the coming weeks. If you have any questions about how to participate, please contact:
