I came across this book recently as an audio book, not knowing anything about it beforehand, and thinking what a weird title it was! But what Yancey does here is to describe various situations in which he has been invited to speak and which might challenge the idea of a good God. One was after the Virginia State massacre in 2007, when 32 people were killed; another was a conference of ex-prostitutes; and another was meetings with persecuted Christians in China. I always enjoy Yancey—but this turned out to be particularly powerful, poignant, and thought-provoking. I was glad to find we have it in the library, but you may get to it before I do!
