Book review by Rev. Andrew Rampton.
This book is a collection of talks given on the subject of Benedictine life. Each chapter is readable on its own, but the whole book sticks to the same broad topic. Rowan Williams writes articulately and accessibly about Benedictine life and spirituality here. A little bit of familiarity with the history of European Benedictine communities doesn't hurt, but this book could also be a great way to get introduced to the topic and discover a new curiosity or passion!
This is an excellent book and well worth reading, especially for anyone interested in monastic communities and their spirituality. (This would also make a great study book for a group to discuss together!)
