Special Congregational Meeting: UPDATED

A special meeting of Vestry has been called for the Church of St. John the Evangelist for Sunday, September 18, at 2PM. All parishioners are invited and encourage to attend this important meeting which will be held by Zoom videoconference.

"Vestry" is the meeting of the parish similar to the meetings of members other types of organizations. The parish's Annual Vestry is the essential equilvalent of a typical Annual General Meeting, receiving annual financial and other reports, approving budgets, and electing officers. Special meetings of Vestry may be called from time to time by the rector and churchwardens to conduct parish business that belongs properly to Vestry.

This Special Meeting of Vestry has been called to consider a budget proposal for the final quarter of 2022 in light of financial challenges that our parish church has faced this year. The budget will include authorization to a further draw from the Endowment Fund as well as other measures. 

If you regularly attend worship at the Church of St. John the Evangelist, support the parish financially, and have reached the age of sixteen, you are a member of Vestry and are entitled to vote at the meeting. All parishioners are welcome and encouraged to attend.
