Memories from present St. John's members:
Brian Henley was a member of St. John in the late 90's and early 2000. He was a regular at the Discovery service when it first began, but also worshipped at the Choral Service. He was a server, a chalice bearer and also preached on occasion.
Brian was the reason the men's Saturday study group was started. He had just come to St. John’s and was searching for a bible study. It started with just three people and is going strong after mire than 20 years. He also studied with the BeHive group. He loved a conversation to challenge him and make him think. His humility blew us away, too! In the middle of a discussion, there would be a comment or a question that required a steeped-in-the-faith answer but his candid comment would be perfect. His approach to life was so refreshing and new. Having come to faith in his adult years, he enriched many meetings and discussions, making us all grow so much.
Outside of St. John's Brian volunteered at the Hamilton Out of the COLD for many years. He was also well known in Hamiltton as a local historian, as is shown in these links.
