According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), this year approximately 177 million people will be forcibly displaced or stateless – the highest number in history. Refugees often embark on dangerous journeys in pursuit of safety, and these journeys all-too-frequently meet a tragic end. According to the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM), migrant deaths in the Central Mediterranean have hit a six-year high in 2023.
This summer you are invited to join the second annual PWRDF Wild Ride in support of PWRDF partners who serve refugees and displaced people. Our partners are working to support refugees in Tanzania, South Sudan, Jordan, Ukraine and more. Join others across the country as we walk, cycle, roller blade, bake, read, knit, crochet, swim, kayak, canoe, dance and sing – or pretty much any activity you would like to undertake. Join the Wild Ride and put your stamp on it!
Last year was a wild success as 12 teams made up of 55 participants came together to put their stamp on it and participate in our inaugural campaign. This year, our aim is to have 75 participants across 15 teams, with a fundraising goal of $50,000!
