The Hearts and Minds session on housing was really helpful for me because this room was full of people whose lives are being called to service in our community around issues of homelessness. It was clear that we are not alone and that we do have solidarity with others.
How do we take those gifts we are being given and figure out how to translate them into action? This morning’s reading point to the unending wholeness in the Kingdom of God. There is no shortage of healing. There is no “Well we only have three miracles left” when we stay in Christ.
As I listened this morning, I was reminded why I am grateful to be part of this congregation, to be refreshed and recharged from the Word, to be challenged even, to stand in that faith we are called to in Christ.
In that I want to express my gratitude and encourage each of you to reflect on, What does remaining in faith and rooted in gratitude look like for you in the context of this congregation? Maybe it’s around generosity because the plate can always be fuller. Maybe it’s around ways to engage in service or use your networks or whatever you have been given to round out this body of believers active in the city today.
Thank you all for being part of my faith journey and letting me share the gratitude I have for being part of St John the Evangelist.
