Mother’s Day is May 12th so here’s a chance to get a cake for someone special or yourself!

You can choose which cake you want! Like a Penny Sale, you place your Cakes, Cakes, Cakes ticket on the cake you’d like to take home.

*Uncertain about which kind of cake? Buy more than one ticket!
*Really like one kind of cake? Place several tickets on it!

The Crafters are selling tickets at $4 each or 3/$10. You have to add your name and phone number to each ticket in case you’re not present at 12:30 when a ticket for each cake is drawn. If you cannot be present to place your ticket, tell the person who sold you your tickets your favourite kind! They’ll place it for you.

We’ve got an amazing assortment already including some fruit cake and coffee cakes.  We STILL need a few more donations. Don’t bake? Buy one and donate it!

Some QUESTIONS and REMINDERS!

*Can I buy tickets on Sunday? Yes, through any of the Crafters at the back of the church or at coffee hour. Cash preferred but will accept e-transfer (add “Cakes” on the note)

*Can I have a choice of which cake I’d like to win? Yes! Place your ticket in the paper bag identifying the cake you’d like.

*Do I have to be present when the tickets are pulled? No. We will contact you right after all tickets have been pulled and we will call the phone number on the back of your ticket. Make sure you print clearly your name and number. If it’s a perishable cake, we reserve the right to freeze it or keep it in the church fridge. We do not offer home delivery! The Church Office is open on the following Tuesday so please be available Sunday afternoon before 3 pm to pick it up. Otherwise, it goes into ‘storage’ for you to pick up during Office hours (Tuesday / Wednesday and Friday, 9:30-12:30) unless you make special arrangements with another person who will be present Sunday, May 12th.

*How do I carry home my cake, if I should win one? We are providing cardboard bakery boxes for each cake.

*What if I have food allergies? Each cake will be accompanied by a list of its ingredients. There will be gluten free cakes available as well. We accept no responsibility for any unforeseen reactions to the CAKES provided.

*How will cakes be kept fresh? Cakes containing perishable ingredients will be placed for viewing after the 9:30 service and then returned to the refrigerator during the Choral Service. Then, the cakes will be set out again as the ticket pulling begins for the CAKES event at 12:30. If you could provide a printed photo of your cake, it can substitute for the cake itself.

* What if I don’t have a preference? Choose any flavour which you might enjoy. You are also invited to negotiate a trade if you win a cake not of your liking.  OR you may consider donating it to the Hospitality Group who will gladly use it for a Coffee Hour later this season.
